Why we do what we do

Why we worship

Worship is the heartbeat of everything we do. What we do in our song services should be an overflow of our lifestyle of Worship (Romans 12:1-2). When we sing songs to God we are totally emptying ourselves of all of our flesh. All of our worries, cares and concerns are poured out so that the only thing that is left is our praise and Thanksgiving of everything He has done, is doing, and will do.

Worship fights your battles for you and it is our desire at Sound of Heaven not just to sing cool songs but to usher in sounds, music and lyrics that will transform your life. Music is a powerful weapon and when used in worship to honor God, it sets the tone of our spiritual journey. In fact, it is our sole purpose…to Worship Him (Psalm 29:1-2) in all we do. God desires our Worship (Psalm 99:5) and is the only one worthy of it (1 Chronicles 16:25).

To worship God is to recognize, honor, and express our gratitude that He is due. When we worship God we experience fellowship with Him and when he is in our midst and we magnify Him, supernatural things take place. Our hearts desire is for you to be a worshipper, in Spirit and in Truth.

The Word

Now the way we teach the Word of God may be very different than what you are normally used to. It is so important that you get taught the Word in a simple and applicable way. We are not a Church that will just preach at you (although we do preach), but teach and train you to be victorious in every area of your life.

There needs to be a good balance of preaching and teaching. The preaching encourages you for what God is doing in the here and now but the teaching is the anchor. Our leaders and teachers at Sound of Heaven are committed to helping you understand the Bible and learning how to apply it in every area of your life. We want to see you be an effective man/woman, husband/wife, father/mother, business owner, employee… and much much more!

God has the answer to all of these things and we are excited to journey with you.
