COMMUNITY OUTREACH

A major role of the church is to be a thread to the community. In scripture, we see the early church allocating resources to meet the needs of the people in the region. This is a passion at Sound of Heaven as well. Praying for the sick, being a father to the fatherless, feeding the homeless, finding housing for those in need, whatever the requirement, let us know.

Meeting Needs With Love

At Sound of Heaven church, we have a passion about meeting the needs of the community.  Community Outreach is an important part of ministry as it allows us to be a light to this world. Just like God provides for our needs, we can be imitators of Christ through our willingness to be His extension to those around us.  Jesus showed compassion to those who were suffering, sick and impoverished.  The Apostles continued that focus as they spread the Gospel.  We see them in the book of Acts, chapter 6, selecting individuals to meet the needs of widows.  We as the church have the answer in that with God all things are possible.   What better way to communicate that than to be actively involved in the community.  When there is a need, we are there.

Outreach in Scripture

Let’s work together to meet the needs of the Long Island community. We are passionate about community outreach.  Uncover a need?  Let us know.  We will do our best to lock arms with you anywhere we can.  Here are a few of the many scriptures on outreach.

“But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind”

Luke 14:13

““Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? “Then your light will break out like the dawn,
And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.”

Isaiah 58:7-10

“But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

1 John 3:17

“One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed.”

Proverbs 19:17
